A Different Frame of Mind and Richard Beckman: Outside the Curve of Reason come to a close this Friday, September 5 at the Contemporary Art Museum. Join us from 7:00 to 9:00 pm for a closing reception and one last chance to view these exhibitions.
A Different Frame of Mind includes Ariel Baron-Robbins, Mike Covello (pictured), Derek Curry and Jennifer Gradecki, David Gabbard, Janett Pulido, and Sam Robinson using recycled picture frames to produce new works for this exhibition.
Richard Beckman: Outside the Curve of Reason features Beckman’s organic and geometric forms from collections throughout Florida.
Also on Friday, September 5, the USF Institute for Research in Art will dedicate Richard Beckman’s sculpture Half the Truth (1990), gifted to the USF Collection by his family. The permanent public installation celebrates and honors Beckman’s contributions as an artist, professor, mentor, and friend to the College of The Arts and the Tampa Bay community.
The dedication will be held at 11:00 am in the green space between PCD (Psychology) and FAH (Fine Arts), just north of parking lot 9B, USF Tampa campus.
