Teresita Fernández Wins Award, Offers Sculpture at Art Crush Auction

The Aspen Art Museum’s ArtCrush 2013 Auction Benefit is happening tonight. And if you want a new Teresita Fernández sculpture in your home, this is one way to get it! The estimated price the Fernandez sculpture will fetch is $100,000.

Fernández is also this year’s recipient of the Aspen Award for Art. She and her work will be celebrated at tonights affair in Aspen, Colorado.

“The Aspen Award for Art is given each year to an artist who has made a significant contribution to the field of contemporary art. Past artist-honorees are: Tom Sachs (2012), Roni Horn (2011), Marilyn Minter (2010), Fred Tomaselli (2009), Ed Ruscha (2008), Jim Hodges (2007), Tony Feher (2006), and Richard Tuttle (2005).” ~ source

Teresita Fernández Editions at Graphicstudio
Graphicstudio printer Matthew Squires has worked extensively with Fernandez on several sculpture editions. “Blind Land (Green Mirror)” was produced by Graphicstudio and was precision cut from mirror finished stainless steel using water jet. This work is similar to The Apparition edition by Fernández, also produced by Graphicstudio.
