You know what they say about New York, “…if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere!” Well, it does seem to ring true. It would have been easier to travel about anywhere else in the world this week. Our flights into the Big Apple coincided with the arrival of Hurricane Sandy, so we really didn’t think we would make it there this year.
But, after some hard work on the part of New York’s finest — citizens, first responders, clean up crews, and a some stressed out Delta customer service representatives — we finally did make it to the fair.
The IFPDA opening was moved from Wednesday to Thursday evening, due to the storm. And our Director of Sales and Marketing, Kristin S. arrived just in time to wo-man the Graphicstudio booth for the big night. We also solicited some assistance from a local friend of Graphicstudio, Elizabeth Johanningmeier Fifer! Thanks Elizabeth for stepping in!
The booth looks fabulous with new work from Iva Gueorguieva, Chuck Close, Christian Marclay, Josiah McElheny, and Vik Muniz. Check out the photo at the top of this post, or drop by the fair and visit.
Anyway, we finally made it to the fair, and we are currently operating at full power in the Park Avenue Armory. Our thoughts go out to those who are still without power, and those who have suffered during and after storm. We wish you all a speedy recovery!
